Kseb Charging Station Punnapra is a public EV charging point in Punnapra, Alappuzha, run under the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) network. Kerala’s electric vehicle numbers are growing quickly, and this station gives EV owners in and around Punnapra a dependable place to recharge close to the Alappuzha coastal belt.
KSEB was one of the first agencies in Kerala to set up public charging infrastructure. Its network includes pole-mounted chargers, mainly meant for e-autos and two-wheelers, and fast-charging units at selected locations for cars. Charging points can generally be found through the KSEB charging app. Payment is made per unit of electricity consumed, which keeps costs clear. Rates and charger types vary from station to station, so it is worth checking the app before you go.
Punnapra sits on the busy stretch between Alappuzha town and Ambalappuzha. The station is useful for local commuters, delivery riders, auto drivers and tourists travelling through the backwater district. Alappuzha has a growing set of public chargers, and a KSEB point in Punnapra adds convenience for people who live or work nearby and would otherwise have to travel into the city to charge.
KSEB is also expanding its charging network. It recently submitted a second-phase proposal under the PM E-Drive scheme, which aims to add more high-capacity chargers at KSEB substations, section offices and other government premises across Kerala. Public charging is becoming a regular part of the state’s transport system. Before visiting, confirm the charger’s availability, connector type and charging rate in the KSEB app or with the local KSEB office.
