Sree Vadakkumnathan Temple Thekkinkadu Maidan is one of Kerala's oldest and most revered Shiva shrines, standing majestically in the heart of Thrissur city. Legend traces its origin to Parasurama, the sixth avatar of Lord Vishnu, who is said to have consecrated the deity here after reclaiming the land of Kerala from the sea.
